Our time at Best of Britannia
Posted: Oct 05 2014
It's been a while since I posted a blog post, but now the madness is over, and I've rested my feet, I thought I'd let you know what I've been up to...
Last Thursday the doors opened at Best of Britannia. An exhibition that celebrates the best of British design, fashion and manufacturing. And we were lucky to be there.
We started building our stand on Tuesday, which for the first time, saw me on a step ladder with a paint brush, lifting things I didn't know I had the muscles to lift! But by Thursday, despite some hiccups with the lighting, our stand was looking great, and we were ready to not only launch Olive Cooper officially, but also showcase our products to trade and press for the very first time.
The response? Unbelievable. We had such positive interest into our products, which followed through to the public days on Friday and Saturday. It was so great to see other people falling so easily in love with my products, as much as me. We had hundreds of brochures and cards ready to be picked up from our table, but by Saturday... they had all gone - alongside key pieces from our collection, which customers couldn't resist buying. Importantly, when talking to customers to find out why they were there, so many of them responded by explaining that they no longer buy for products for the sake of it. They buy products that represent quality, that have a story, and are British. It really does seem that consumer interest in supporting British manufacturing is alive and growing.
So what's next?
We'll be announcing some exciting updates within the next week. But for now, the majority of our A/W collection is now ready to buy online at www.olivecooper.com, with the rest coming soon!
